Easy to use for school

I got the Individual Teacher Plan a few weeks ago. It was pretty simple to sign up and get going. I started using it for my science lessons, mainly the BrainPOP Science videos. The kids in my class seem to like it, and it makes explaining some of the trickier concepts easier. No issues with getting access or anything. It's been a good addition to my teaching tools, just a straightforward platform.

Good for learning at home

I ordered the Family Subscription for my two kids last month after using the free trial. The process was straightforward on their website. It took about 20 minutes to set up both children with their own profiles and get them started on some of the science videos. We've used BrainPOP Jr. a lot for my youngest. Delivery isn't really a thing here since it's all online, but access was immediate. I had a question about the 'Make-a-Map' feature and used their online chat support, which responded within minutes. The quality of the animated videos is consistently high, very engaging. My kids actually enjoy learning with it, which is a big win. The interface is intuitive enough for a 6-year-old to navigate alone after a quick intro. It's a solid educational tool.

Good value, minor navigation issue

I opted for the Homeschool Subscription for my two children after trying out the free week. The content for Math and English is quite extensive, and my kids have found it very helpful. The subscription price feels fair for the amount of educational material provided, a good value overall. Access was immediate, which was nice. My only small criticism is that sometimes navigating between BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. content for different age groups can be a little clunky; it's not always obvious how to switch seamlessly without going back to the main dashboard. But once you're in the right section, everything works well.

Consistent and reliable resource

This isn't my first time with BrainPOP. We've had a Homeschool Subscription for three years now, and I just renewed it again. The process was as smooth as ever, just a few clicks to extend for another year. I've used it through different grade levels for my kids, from BrainPOP Jr. to the regular BrainPOP content, especially for history and science. What I really appreciate is how consistent the quality is. Every video, every quiz, it's all well-produced and accurate. It integrates really well into our daily learning. I keep coming back because it's a reliable supplement to our curriculum.

So engaging, kids love it!

Oh my goodness, BrainPOP is fantastic! I got the Family Subscription for my elementary-aged kids, and they absolutely adore it. They watch the videos and do the quizzes without me even asking! The content is so engaging, especially the Social Studies and Science topics. It makes learning so much fun. I'm telling all my parent friends about this. We will definitely be renewing next year!

Is there a way to try out BrainPOP without paying upfront? I want to see if my kids actually engage with it.

A Ashley 1 week ago
Totally! They offer free trials, usually 2 weeks. That's how I tested it out for my homeschool.

You can also check out their 'free movie of the week' sometimes to get a feel for the content, but the trial gives you full access to everything.

Thinking of getting BrainPOP for my elementary kids. Is BrainPOP Jr. better for younger ones or can they use the regular BrainPOP too?

E Eric S. 3 weeks ago
BrainPOP Jr. is definitely for the younger set, like K-3. It's got simpler language and topics. Regular BrainPOP is more for 3rd grade and up, so if your kids are mixed ages or on the older side of elementary, you might want both or just the main one.

My 2nd grader uses Jr. and my 4th grader uses the main one. Jr. is really good for starting out, it feels less overwhelming for little kids.

Anyone know how often BrainPOP does sales? Trying to decide if I should wait for a better deal or just grab a family subscription now.

R Rachel Moore 1 month ago
They usually have back-to-school sales in August/September and I think I saw a Black Friday one last year. They also often do annual subscription discounts.

Yeah, I got a renewal discount last time, so they definitely do those. Keep an eye out around those times or for a summer special. Free trials are easy to get in the meantime though!

How does BrainPOP compare to something like Khan Academy or IXL? We're already using those and wondering if BrainPOP is worth adding.

E Elizabeth Anderson 1 week ago
BrainPOP is much more video-based and interactive, like animated lessons with quizzes and games. Khan Academy is great for practice and deeper dives into specific subjects, more like a digital textbook. IXL is mostly skill practice.

Yeah, BrainPOP makes subjects more 'fun' with the animations. It's not as much about drilling like IXL or detailed problem-solving like Khan, but it's really good for introducing new topics and making them understandable. My kids prefer BrainPOP for learning new stuff, then use Khan for practice.
